Our Mission
The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is 501C(3) non-profit organization made up of volunteers who love what they do.
The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library support the library through advocacy, volunteer service, supplemental funding and by fostering a close relationship between the library and the community.
For years the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library has been helping the SCV’s three wonderful libraries by providing funding, logistic support, special programs, activities and manpower. We believe in the public library system and have a genuine love for reading and the promotion of literacy. Besides, we just like to have fun!
The Friends operate bookstores in each library branch, we host author events, adult programs and activities. We also provide volunteer opportunities and financial support to popular reading programs. Throughout the year we drive to help make Santa Clarita aware of the wonderful things that every one of our library branches offer. It’s not just about “checking out a book” anymore. Libraries are a staple in our community.
Throughout the year we offer many programs and activities to help the Santa Clarita Libraries. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic our libraries remained open (on a very limited basis) so we kept moving!

There are dozens of special programs that are offered by the libraries too! We help out and support each of those as well.

Thank you for supporting the Santa Clarita Public Library! Donations from our generous community help stock the Friends of the Library bookstores. Proceeds from these sales go right back into funding library programs, events, and resources for all ages.
We’d love to accept your gently used books and media—but before you load up your car, please take a moment to review our guidelines and current donation status.
